Putting the "special" in special teams, the Giants committed $7.5 million over five years to secure the services of special teams ace David Tyree. He had been a restricted free agent and, as such, was vulnerable to any other team in search of a dynamic special teams performer. In fact, Tyree, the team's third pick in the sixth round of 2003, was named to the NFC Pro Bowl team as the special teams selection. He signed a five-year contract valued at $1.
